Can I buy replacement parts for the CoDrone EDU?

You can, yes! The CoDrone EDU is designed so that almost all parts of the drone can be replaced, including propellers, motors, even the frame itself. You can find replacement parts in our store. The only parts that aren't replaceable is the internals boards and the bottom chassis of the drone.

What are the device requirements for CoDrone EDU?

If you're coding in Blockly, you can use either a Chromebook, a macOS like a MacBook, or a Windows computer. They will need to have USB ports to connect to the controller. You can check out our lesson on how to set that up.
Unfortunately, the CoDrone EDU is not compatible with iPads or tablets.
If you're coding in Python, you can code on a macOS device or a Windows device. At the moment, you cannot code in Python on a Chromebook. You can check out our lesson on how to set up Python.

Is CoDrone EDU suitable for classrooms?

Yes! CoDrone EDU was developed specifically as a tool for the classroom to teach drones and programming. CoDrone EDU is safe, durable, and easy to use. It has durable guards to protect people and other objects from spinning propellers and a sturdy frame that can withstand drops and crashes. You can read about the durability here. Radio frequency communication ensures stable connections in a classroom with multiple drones.
For teachers and educators, there are free lessons and lesson plans available on Basecamp, our lesson portal, Blockly and Python programming. We are here to assist you bring CoDrone EDU to your classroom!

How durable is CoDrone EDU?

CoDrone EDU was designed with the classroom in mind. Flexible guards can absorb impacts and protect people and objects from damage. However, like any product, it is also not indestructible! CoDrone EDU can still sustain damage from regular wear and tear, or improper use such as crashing intentionally or falling from heights greater than 10ft. Head here to learn more about durability.
That said, almost all of the parts in the drone are replaceable, so if a part breaks, you rarely will need to buy an entirely new drone. Check out our store for replacement parts, and check out our videos on how to replace parts.

Where can I find lessons for CoDrone EDU?

Our lessons can be found at Basecamp, which is our lesson portal. Here, you'll learn all about how to get started, drone maintenance and safety, how to use the controller, how to set up your coding environment, and more.

Can I purchase professional development?

Yes! We have professional development right here. Our trainers will help you hit the ground running so you can start day 1 of class confident. Our PD sessions are virtual, and we have 2, 4, and 6 hour courses, with each group being up to 4 people.
