With the 2024-25 school year getting started in buildings and campuses across the U.S., Team Robolink is excited to share some big updates that will make it even easier to inspire your students, build their CS and STEAM skills, and support their future careers. As you get back to your classrooms or coaching, be sure to check out these new resources and releases and tell us what you think.
Go beyond Blockly and teach students text-based coding for CoDrone EDU. Python for Robolink is a new, browser-based app, meaning you don't need to install anything or ask IT. Available on a Chrome browser for Windows, MacOS, and Chromebooks, it is compatible with CoDrone EDU and CoDrone EDU (JROTC edition). Here's what else you need to know:
Students get errors in a console just like an integrated development environment (IDE).
We have your back. Contact us at support@robolink.com with questions or feedback!
Many lessons are supported on both platforms (web and local Python in IDE), except lessons that involve training the color sensor or uploading files for drawing on the screen.
Reach New Heights with Real-World Activities
ISTELive visitors got a sneak peek at something big from our EDU team: our new Construction Compliance mission. This activity, designed with ISTE and CSTA standards in mind, draws inspiration from how drones are used today for urban planning, permitting, and construction. It challenges students to use CoDrone EDU's sensors to read slope and build STEM skills including logic and conditionals.
Like all of Robolink's easy-to-use educator resources, this mission builds student engagement, retention, and future readiness. And it's only the beginning. The Construction Compliance mission will be launching on robolink.com this fall and is part of a new series of CoDrone EDU activities that bring CS and STEAM to life in real-world scenarios like city planning and agriculture.
