THE CHALLENGE

The contest will consist of two parts, each with their own rules:

1. NAVIGATE ROBOLINK HQ CITY

Robolink HQ City is an immersive, interactive and competitive field for students to compete on.  The small, mock city will include a series of reactive events to complete.  Each goal will be worth points, and students will try to get the highest score within the time limit.

2. CoDrone BATTLE CAGE

Students will go head-to-head in a fully enclosed, 15×15 ft transparent cage complete with obstacles and terrain. The first stage of the battles will be a round-robin format, ensuring that all students will be able to battle multiple times. The second stage will be single elimination, best of 3’s format.

  • Must be at the 7th – 12th grade level.

We recommend all participants have some experience in flying drones.  We recommend taking CoDrone classes to prepare for the competition and learn basic programming.

Scoring

Each CoDrone Battle will award 50 points to the winner.  The loser will be awarded no points.  The finalist in the single elimination stage will be awarded a trophy.

Each event in the Robolink HQ City field has it’s own point value.  All points scored in the field will be totalled.  The student with the highest total score will be awarded a trophy.

Students will also have a chance to run the Robolink HQ City field autonomously.  All points received autonomously will be added to their Robolink HQ City field score.  There is no penalty for attempting an autonomous round.

The students with the highest totalled score (Battle + HQ City) will receive prizes.

Robolink will be hosting open hours for practice every week in October so competitors can come in and practice flying the CoDrone. The Robolink HQ City practice field will also be set up for students to use. Open hours are free and loaner CoDrones will be provided.
